Bikes were given to local kids

By Roger Horton
Each year before the Shrine Circus comes to Rapid City, local Shriners sell advance tickets to individuals and businesses. Most of the sold tickets are given back to the Shriners to be distributed to kids through the Edgemont Library and Edgemont YMCA.
Along with these tickets are bicycle drawing entry forms. The ticket holders deposit them in a container at the time of the circus. Entrants age 12 and under are eligible for the drawing.
This year four bicycles were available for the drawing. Money for these bicycles were donated by Mt. View Masonic Lodge #161 (one), Harter Family (two), and Hat Creek Bar and Grill (one).
Winners of the bicycle drawings and ticket sponsors were: John DeVore (Fresh Start), Kassidy Aldrich (Victory Steakhouse and Bar), Tucker Ross (Fresh Start) and Kiersten Lynn (Floral Depot).
Proceeds from tickets go to the transportation fund, so that children can be transported to Shrine Hospitals from this area.
