The Black Hills State University athletics department along with the South Dakota National Guard announced the November Warriors of the Month this past weekend at the men's and women's doubleheader against Adams State. Lacy Stevens and Dalton Wademan were presented with a plaque and a life-size banner for their achievement.
Stevens, a sophomore from Edgemont, South Dakota, became the first Yellow Jacket volleyball player to earn a Player of the Week honor from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference when she was named the Defender of the Week. She earned that honor on Oct. 20.
She was then named to the Honorable Mention All-RMAC squad as a libero after leading the league with 5.36 digs per set. Stevens played in 99 sets, totaling 531 digs nearly double any other Yellow Jacket.
Academically, Stevens holds a 3.5 GPA in biology as she will pursue a veterinary school following Black Hills State. Lacy volunteers for service activities including Special Olympics and area youth. She also works with the rodeo team in their day-to-day business
