Rodeo News 6-16-16

Pro Rodeo:
During the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days and PRCA Rodeo in Weatherford, Texas, in the first round of steer roping, Jess Tierney won first, with a time of 10.3 seconds. Tierney also won the second round, with a time of 9.8 seconds. Shay Good, Walter Priestly and Tyrel Taton split fifth, sixth and seventh, with a time of 10.5 seconds. Tierney was second in the average, with a time of 33.4 seconds. Taton and Scott Snedecor split fifth and sixth in the average, with a time of 38.5 seconds.
At the Coleman PRCA Rodeo in Coleman, Texas in the first round of the steer roping, Jess Tierney won first, with a time of 10.4 seconds. In the third round, Tierney, placed sixth, with a time of 11.5 seconds. Tierney won the average, with a time of 36 seconds on three head.
During the 101 Wild West Rodeo in Ponca City, Okla., Paul David Tierney was the all-around cowboy. Tierney competed in the tie-down roping and team roping. Tierney and Cesar de la Cruz placed fourth in the team roping, with a time of 5.3 seconds. Tierney won the tie-down roping, with a time of 9.5 seconds.
At the Beef Empire Days PRCA Rodeo in Garden City, Kan., Clint Kindred and Trent Creager split fourth and fifth in the tie-down roping, with a time of 10.7 seconds. Paul David Tierney and Kelsey Garrison split sixth and seventh in the tie-down roping, with a time of 10.8 seconds.
During the Eagle Rodeo in Eagle, Idaho, Cole Elshere, placed second in the saddle bronc riding, with a score of 79 points.
At the American Heroes PRCA Rodeo in Hawley, Minn., J.B. and Levi Lord won the team roping, with a time of 11.5 seconds. Jesse Bail was second in the saddle bronc riding, with a score of 79 points. Nikki Steffes Hansen won the barrel racing, with a time of 15.96 seconds.
During the Lea Park Rodeo in Marwayne, Alberta, Canada, Chuck Schmidt won the saddle bronc riding, with a score of 81.5 points.
South Dakota Rodeo Association:
At the Foothills Rodeo in Wessington Springs, Alyssa Lockhart placed fourth in the barrel racing, with a time of 16.22 seconds. Lisa Lockhart placed sixth in the barrel racing, with a time of 16.31 seconds. Alyssa was fourth in the goat tying, with a time of 7.8 seconds.
During the Crooks Rodeo in Crooks, Matt Peters was sixth in the tie-down roping, with a time of 10.4 seconds. Peters and Sidney Carey were third in the team roping, with a time of 9.5 seconds.
High School Rodeo:
At the Martin Rodeo, Alyssa Lockhart won the second performance of the pole bending, with a time of 20.993 seconds. In the first performance of the break-a-way, Tatum Lauing won first, with a time of 3.14 seconds, while Lockhart was second, with a time of 4.44 seconds. In the second performance of the break-a-way, Lockhart was first, with a time of 3.64 seconds, while Lauing was third, with a time of 3.95 seconds. Lauing won the average with a time of 7.09 seconds. Lockhart was third in the first performance of the goat tying, with a time of 7.69 seconds. Thane Lockhart was first in the second performance of the tie-down roping, with a time of 10.31 seconds. Alyssa Lockhart won the second performance of the barrel racing, with a time of 16.186 seconds. She also won the girls all-around with 46 total points.
During the Wall Regional Rodeo, Alyssa Lockhart won the first round of barrel racing, with a time of 16.751 seconds. Lockhart was second in the second round, with a time of 16.689 seconds. Tatum Lauing was third in the first round of barrel racing, with a time of 16.936 seconds. Lauing was sixth in the second round of barrel racing, with a time of 16.937 seconds. Courtney Peters won the first round of break-a-way roping, with a time of 3.23 seconds, while Mykelsi Schnose was fourth, with a time of 3.47 seconds. Lauing was seventh in the first round of break-a-way roping, with a time of 5.34 seconds.
