Mike and Cindy Hilton were guest at the EAHS on Tuesday evening, January 26, at the Senior Center. The Senior Citizens served a wonderful meal to members and guests.
The membership meeting was held with Debbie Anderson being elected secretary and Judy Porter treasurer for a term of two years. Various project chairmen reported on progress of their committees during the meeting.
Mark Tubbs reported about the Cheyenne River Stage Station sign to be erected east of Edgemont. Tom Porter reported on the “Fountain in the Park” project and Mary Hollenbeck on the progress of the remodeling of the north bay of the Museum.
Hollenbeck appointed Janet Koller, Darrell DuToit and Nancy Cadwell to audit the financials of the EAHS before March 31, 2016.
Mike Hilton, heritage program manager with the US Forest Service and his wife, Cindy, who is social service coordinator for Custer Senior Regional Care, gave a power point presentation. It was on their travels to Greece.
They presented an evening of pictures and stories of historic, ancient, Greek ruins and Biblical sites, as well as ancient battles fought in that areas. Their historical knowledge wowed the crowd as the group was able to join in on the history lesson.
The Hiltons have traveled extensively in the Mediterranean region, They have consented to visiting Edgemont again to share other trips.
