Garry E. Morris, 78, of Greenwood, Neb., died on Wednesday, April 13, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Lincoln, Neb. A private celebration of life service will be held for Garry.
Garry was born on January 9, 1938, in rural Ansley, Neb., to parents Willard and Gertrude (Fisk) Morris. He was raised and received his education around Edgemont, SD and graduated from Edgemont High School in 1956. Garry grew up working as a ranch hand at different farms and later worked in the concrete and steel industries until his retirement from General Steel in Lincoln. Following his retirement, Garry worked for Tweton Carpentry.
Garry enjoyed fishing, woodworking and raising Angora goats. Above all Garry cherished the time he spent with his family.
He was survived by his children, Jim and Bonnie Morris of Milford, Neb., Bill Morris of Lincoln, Neb., Cherie Nye of Ashland, Neb., Ronnie and Linda Morris of Bullard, Texas, and Mike Morris of Mayetta, Kan.; brothers, Dwaine Morris and Bob Cooper; sister, Sharon Thomson; grandchildren, Logan, Jesse, Justin, Aaron, Chelsea, Nicole, Kellie, Mindy, Dusty, Brandon, Austin, Wes, and Miranda; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; parents; and sisters, Donna and Vickie.
