HOT SPRINGS – Online registration for Climb Hot Springs stair climbing event opened April 1 and paper registrations are available at Mornin’ Sunshine at 509 N River Street in Hot Springs.
During the month of April, Climb Hot Springs is offering the cheapest registration fee available for the 2018 race and fun run.
“We want to offer a quality event at an affordable price for local residents,” said Race Director Curt Lout, “so our April, No Foolin’ special price of $25 for kids and $35 for adults is to encourage Hot Springs and surrounding area residents to register early and start training for the September 22 event.”
The third annual Climb Hot Springs Stair Climb offers two races: a competitive 7-mile course featuring all five historic stair cases in town and a 3-mile fun run encompassing two of those stair cases. Both races are walker-friendly and both have awards for the first male and first female crossing the finish line.
The 7-mile race has six age group awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for females and males. Participants receive a long sleeve t-shirt, a tasty lunch served by the Hot Springs Rotarians, and finishers also get a finisher’s medal.
Climb Hot Springs is sponsored by the Hot Springs Rotary Club and is a fundraiser for local projects, scholarships for Hot Springs High School graduates, and international humanitarian projects. The 2017 event raised $1,000 for hurricane relief and $2,000 for scholarships and local projects.
