On Tuesday, July 19, Edgemont’s City Council met at 7 p.m.
Deputy Josh Buckwheat gave the Law Enforcement Report. It was noted that when sheriff Bob Evans was in Edgemont serving papers, it did not count towards the time that the sheriff’s office has contracted with the City.
Buckwheat also noted that they were a little short on the hours the week before the fire in Edgemont. They had planned to finish up the allotted hours on the Saturday the fire started, but had to help with patrolling on that. Buckwheat also noted that they were ahead on making those hours up on the next log.
Mayor Shaw asked Buckwheat how they were coming on the burglary case. Buckwheat could do some follow up with Evans and let them know.
A question was posed by Councilwoman Brenda Cullen about the drunkenness calls that were on the report. Buckwheat stated that he was on one of them. The caller thought that the driver must be drunk, but Buckwheat didn’t think so. The other driver got to the Wyoming line, Buckwheat could not state how that one ended.
Jennifer Holman addressed the board about having a potluck in the park on July 30. This would be for all the firefighters or anybody that helped with the fire near Edgemont. The potluck would be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and she is requesting everybody bring their own food and drinks. Council approved this.
John McBride presented the plat for the pool property. There was an easement for addition. The register of deeds already approved this, the city of Edgemont needed to approve as well. Council approved the plat for pool property, as well as the resolution that went with it.
Dustin Dale from AE2S was to be at the meeting. An afternoon meeting somewhere else kept him from attending. Dale sent an e-mail to finance officer, Karen Cain, to update the council on the water project.
Dale’s e-mail stated that things that were accomplished in the last period were Water Well Rehabilitation for Wells Number Two and Four were bid and awarded to Water System Drilling INC and design is continuing on the Water Treatment Plant and Elevated Storage Tank
Dale’s e-mail also stated that Water System Drilling, Inc. is in the process of mobilizing equipment to the site and their underground subcontractor plans on installing pipe soon
In the next period, a design review meeting will need to be held with the City to go over the Water Treatment Plant and Elevated Storage Tank. No input is needed at this time.
The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 2, at 7 p.m.
