Barbara F. Bryan, 77, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Mary Lanning HealthCare in Hastings, Neb.
Funeral service is 10 a.m., Monday, August 6, 2018, at All Saints Chapel in Good Samaritan Society at Hastings, with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating. Private burial will be in Gregory. DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to her family for a later designation.

Barbara Fay Bryan was born October 6, 1940, in Pierre, daughter of Francis and Madge (Monlux) Harris. Barb’s growing up years were spent traveling with her family from South Dakota to Oregon, Washington, California and back to South Dakota. She attended grade school in a one-room school near Onida. She graduated from Yankton High School with the class of 1959. Barbara attended college in California where she received her teaching degree. Barb went back to South Dakota and was teaching school where she met a Cowboy named Tony, they married in 1961 in South Dakota. In their early years of marriage, Barb attended many rodeos with her saddle bronc riding cowboy. She worked many jobs during the years of raising a family of girls famously known as the 5T’s, including teacher, waitress, ranching wife, bus driver, newspaper photographer/reporter, with her most notable career of 25 years as a publisher/editor for the Edgemont Herald-Tribune in Edgemont. Barbara was a member of the Edgemont United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Guardian of Job’s Daughters, Cactus Cowgirl’s 4-H club leader and served on the Edgemont City Council. She enjoyed sewing matching outfits for her daughters, reading, writing, and spending lots of time with her grandchildren.
Barb is survived by her husband, Tony Bryan of Hastings, Neb; children, Trina (Everett) Curl of Hill City; Tina Shelstead of Pleasant View, Utah; Tanya (Doug) Jackson of Hemingford, Neb; Traci (Jeff) Weerheim of Hastings, Neb.; and Tricia Bryan of Belle Fourche; ten grandchildren; Carrie, Jamie, Micaiah, Matt, Samie, Terra, Twila, Trista, Sara and Vicky, eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Cliff (Colleen) Harris of West Branson, M.o.; sisters, Nancy (Gene) Schneider of Brookings; Judy (Brad) Shepherd of Brookings; and Sandi (Tom) Law of Branson, MO; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Sara; and great-grandson, Lathen.
