On Tuesday, April 7th, the Edgemont Middle School Invitational Track Meet was held in Custer. Teams in attendance were Custer, Edgemont, Hermosa, Hill City, Hot Springs, Hullett WY, New Underwood, Oelrichs, and Rapid City Christian. Congratulations to all participants; Edgemont place winners were:

Newcastle Track Meet Opens Season

Edgemont High Track Stars kicked off their season at Newcastle, WY on April 2.
Dustin Curl led the boys with 14.25 points by placing second in the 800 meter run and fifth in the 4 X 100 meter relay. Curl’s teammates included Lathen Stevens, Malaky Refior and Brok Stovern. Curl also placed fourth in the boys long jump.
Tierra Hamaker scored all three of the girls points with her sixth place finish in the 300 meter hurdles.

Chance Grill Stole The Gold in Overtime at State!

For the second time in his AAU wrestling career, Chance Grill had an undefeated season and became the 2015 State AAU champion at 95 pounds. His gold medal journey included a first round forty-six second pin in the first period against E. Ortman of Freeman.

Edgemont’s Moguls traveled to Oelrichs on Monday, March 2 for district basketball. They faced the New Underwood Tigers and lost.
Quarter scores are as follows: first quarter, Moguls 6, Tigers 23, second quarter, Moguls 15, Tigers 48, third quarter, Moguls 25, Tigers 67, final score, Moguls 35, Tigers 81.

Stevens Named Warrior of the Month

The Black Hills State University athletics department along with the South Dakota National Guard announced the November Warriors of the Month this past weekend at the men's and women's doubleheader against Adams State. Lacy Stevens and Dalton Wademan were presented with a plaque and a life-size banner for their achievement.
